Lesson Plan 3

Interview Simulations

- My Own Comments on the class and students' reaction

Starting with the lesson, the warm-up had an interesting answer. Some students said that they want to be a lawyer or a doctor while others said they still didn’t think about it. But the interesting answers were that few students said they don’t want to continue with their education, instead, they want to open their businesses and invest in them.

After watching the video and discussing it, the teacher explained the activity and that should be done in pairs, then hand out the printed questions worksheet. The students asked about the meaning of some questions, especially question three: How would you describe your time management? So, after explaining to them, the activity started and went well and most of the class passed their interview. The closure didn’t take more than planned and students loved the idea of it and felt it was fun.

- Extra! Comments on the lesson plan from a classmate

Choosing this warm-up for this lesson is great because choosing a profession for the future should be discussed more in schools. Especially in this generation, many students do not have a specific preference or profession they dream of for the future.

The choice of the video was very successful because it contains interesting and beneficial information that may benefit these students in the future when they apply for their jobs.

I liked the idea of interviewing in the classroom. A creative idea like this will make the students more interactive and excited during the lesson and not bored. As for the conclusion, I liked that you chose to write on the board only the names of the students who succeeded in the interview, and not those who failed because that might embarrass some students.
